Talk to your florist about this

Whether you're working with a professional florist or showing off your own talents for styling flowers for your wedding, I want to share a few quick tips to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible when it comes to flowers:

  • Scheduling your bouquet & boutonniere delivery: The number one flower "pitfall" I've come across is having the bouquets delivered to the ceremony venue rather than the place where the bride is getting ready. Why does this matter? We will often get a few photos of just the bride or the bride and the bridesmaids before the ceremony, so it's really nice to have the flowers handy.

  • Setting aside loose stems and greenery: Ask your florist if he or she has a few extra stems or some greens leftover that can be delivered with the bouquets. Little greens make me especially happy when I'm balancing out the invitation layout.

  • Placing your flowers at the head table: It's very common to decorate the head table or sweetheart table with bouquets or other flowers, but work with your florist to choose an arrangement that won't block your faces from view during the toasts. Rather than putting the flowers right in the middle, ask if there's a way to arrange them slightly off to one side where they won't block any faces from view.

I hope this sparks a few new ideas for you! I can't wait to see how you put your own personalities into your wedding day.
